Senior Barista

Macatia and Coffee, a popular specialist coffee and matcha house in Herne Hill, is looking for an experienced Senior Barista to join our team.

This is a hands-on role for a passionate coffee professional with excellent barista, customer service, and communication skills, a strong knowledge of coffee and alternative drinks, and experience supporting and leading a team.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain exceptional drink and food quality standards

Train and support baristas to deliver excellent service

Lead daily operations, stock management, and equipment maintenance

Contribute to new drink development and seasonal menu updates

Lead by example and support senior management with team supervision

Who We're Looking For

Someone with 3+ years' barista experience and advanced coffee skills - including solid experience with espresso dial-in, cupping, milk texturing, batch brewing, cold brewing, and recipe development

With strong knowledge of coffee alternatives, matcha, chai, iced teas, and seasonal drinks

Previous Senior Barista and/or supervisory experience

An strong communicator, and leader, with developed organisational skills

Someone who is available during weekends as well as through the week
