General Manager
Blackfinger Coffee RoastersAbout this role
Blackfinger Coffee Roasters is a queer owned co-op cafe/roastery opening on the west side of Camberwell in the iconic railway arches. We are a small, no-fuss, down to earth team of 3 looking for a GM/CM looking to take on ownership of the cafe and site in our spot in Camberwell. Please check out our website to learn more about us: https://blackfingercoffee.co.uk
This is a hands-on role, the GM should expect to be on shift working at least 2/3 days a week with members of the team.

o Toiletries/sanitary items (external suppliers, subscription?)
· Liaise with head of coffee for retail sales in café

Café management
· Ensure open and close of café is done by either a partner/GM
· H&S checklist
· Ensure cleanliness at all times (create and manage the rota)
· Handle customer disputes (important – flexible on dynamic between GM&director to public)
· Ensure excellent drink quality (your own standards should be high and you should be holding other partners and staff to those standards - you're the boss!)
What do we give back?
BFCR is a co-op, which means your pay if you choose to become a partner with us will be the same as the director and the other partners. We are also offering equity in the business for the right person (we sell you a portion of the business based on your hours worked at our AGM). That means you get a portion of every sale you make at the cafe, and every wholesale deal the roastery does.
If you think we're a good cultural fit for you - and you're looking to work with a business that respects you as more than a line on a spreadsheet - reach out to us!
