Freelance Specialty Coffee Barista Job type:

GAIA Coffee is a new independent specialty coffee brand rooted in East London. We are looking for a confident and experienced freelance barista to join us at our design-led coffee truck in London Fields.

Start date: September 2026.

The role will initially involve Friday, Saturday and Sunday shifts, with the possibility of additional work as GAIA grows. You will prepare consistently excellent espresso-based drinks and matcha, deliver warm and professional customer service, handle payments and help keep the truck clean, organised and ready for service.

You will be joining GAIA at the beginning of its journey, making this a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently, cares about quality and would like to grow alongside an exciting new coffee brand.

This opportunity is offered on a self-employed freelance basis. Shifts will be offered according to business requirements, and the freelancer may accept or decline individual assignments.

• Strong espresso preparation and milk-steaming skills

• Consistent latte art

• Excellent customer-service skills

• Experience handling payments and maintaining a clean workspace

• Good knowledge of food hygiene and allergens

• Reliability and availability for Friday, Saturday and Sunday shifts

• The right to work in the UK

As a self-employed freelancer, you will be responsible for your own tax and National Insurance and will submit invoices for completed assignments.
