Café Front of House Team Member

Almari Coffee is an independent community café in Aberfeldy Village, Poplar. We are looking for an experienced, reliable and confident Café Front of House team member.

This is not a café manager position, but the role carries additional responsibility. You will open the café in the morning, prepare the front of house for service and help the shift run smoothly.

Main responsibilities include:

• Opening the café safely and on time

• Preparing the customer area, counter, till and service stations

• Welcoming customers and taking orders accurately

• Delivering friendly and professional customer service

• Handling customer questions, requests and complaints confidently

• Using initiative to resolve everyday issues and challenges

• Supporting the kitchen and barista teams during busy periods

• Processing payments and following cash-handling procedures

• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation and food hygiene

• Replenishing front-of-house stock and reporting shortages

• Following Almari’s recipes, service standards and workplace procedures

• Escalating serious or unusual matters to the directors when necessary

The successful applicant will be professional, dependable and comfortable working in a busy café. You should be able to remain calm under pressure, use good judgement and communicate clearly with customers and colleagues.

• At least one year’s experience in a café, hospitality or busy customer-facing role

• Experience opening a café or hospitality venue is preferred

• Confident, professional and able to use initiative

• Reliable and punctual for morning opening shifts

• Good communication, customer service and teamwork skills

• Till, cash-handling or point-of-sale experience is desirable

• Barista or coffee-service experience is desirable

• Food hygiene training or certification is desirable

Working hours:

• Wednesday to Friday: 7:45 am–4:15 pm

• Sunday: 9:45 am–3:30 pm
