About Kolach

Kolach is a brand-new Czech-inspired micro-bakery and specialty coffee shop coming to Bloomsbury, London.

After years of working behind the coffee bar, our founder is taking the leap and opening his own place - built around the things he loves most: great coffee, good food, and proper hospitality.

We’ll be keeping things small and thoughtful, with a seasonal menu of breakfast and lunch dishes, sandwiches, freshly baked goods and, of course, Czech kolaches.

Our philosophy is simple: Rooted in Czech baking, made for London.

We’re aiming to open w/c 2 November 2026, subject to change.

The role

Small independent shops are made by all-rounders. We’re looking for a Barista & FOH team member who is just as happy making a beautifully dialled-in espresso as they are welcoming a customer, running the till or helping keep the shop running smoothly.

You’ll be an important part of the day-to-day experience at Kolach, working closely with the rest of the team to make sure our coffee, food and service are consistently great.

What you'll be doing

• Dial in espresso each morning and monitor coffee throughout the day.

• Prepare coffee and the full drinks menu to a consistently high standard, including latte art.

• Welcome customers warmly, talk them through the menu and make them feel at home.

• Take orders and payments accurately and confidently.

• Keep the coffee bar, equipment and FOH areas clean, organised and ready for service.

• Clean and care for the espresso machine and grinders as part of the daily routine.

• Keep an eye on coffee, milk and other stock levels and communicate when things need replenishing.

• Support the wider team wherever needed - because in a small shop, everyone pitches in.

What we're looking for

You don’t need to have done everything before, but you should be someone who cares about doing things properly.

You’ll suit us if you:

• Have previous specialty coffee/barista experience and understand the importance of good espresso.

• Enjoy working in a small, close-knit team where everyone has a voice.

• Are warm, confident and genuinely enjoy looking after people.

• Communicate clearly and kindly with both customers and colleagues.

• Are reliable, punctual and take pride in your work.

• Are happy to get stuck in and help wherever you’re needed.

• Have availability to work weekends.

• Have the right to work in the UK.
